Takiyettin Mengüşoğlu (1905–1984), was a Turkish philosopher who founded ontological anthropology. Mengüşoğlu was against approaching man from a conceptual viewpoint. He thought that this way of approaching man will lead us into error. He criticized contemporary anthropological viewpoints and he founded a new anthropology which he called ontological anthropology. This anthropology deals with man not through any conception but through “his concrete biopsyhichic wholeness”. Thus this new anthropology seems to be more suitable for approaching man and solving concrete problems in human world.
